PERSON COUNTY, NC - WILLS - Samuel Sneed, 22 Nov 1800 ----¤¤¤¤---- WILL OF SAMUEL SNEED OF PERSON COUNTY, N.C.-DIED 1806 Contributor's Note: Captain Samuel Sneed was a wealthy landowner from Virginia who died on August 10, 1806, in Person County, North Carolina. (Raleigh Register: Aug.25,1806) He was married to Jane Dudley, also from Virginia, who also was one of the executors of his estate. The Will was proven in open court by the oath of Josiah Brown and added to the records in 1807, WB 4 PAGE 174, in Person County. Also, in November Court 1810, Thomas Sneed, one of the Executors came into open court and qualified the Executors. This was probably done because his brother, John Sneed, had died in 1808. Here is transcribed Samuel's will, which I am quoting as it was written. I have placed words in brackets [ ] in places where the old style of spelling may have caused confusion for the modern reader. ----------------------------------------------- I Samuel Sneed Being in perfect health and sound mind and memory do make and orda [order] this my last will and testament Vizt.
