PERSON COUNTY, NC - WILLS - Jane Sneed, 24 Jul 1821 ----¤¤¤¤---- WILL OF JANE SNEED OF PERSON COUNTY ,N.C.- DIED ABOUT 1823 Contributor's Note: Jane (Dudley) Sneed was the wife of Samuel Sneed (1723 - 1806) both originally from Virginia. Here is transcribed her Will from the original, which can be found in WILL INDEX 9,PAGE 434 for Person County, in the North Carolina Archives. This will was proven in open court in Person County for the February Term in 1823 by the oaths of John R. Sneed and Thomas Sneed. I have placed words in brackets [ ] in places where the old style of spelling may have caused confusion for the modern reader. ----------------------------------------------- In the Name of God, Amen, I, Jane Sneed being of sound and perfect mind and memory blelfsed [blessed] be God do this twenty forth day of July in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and twenty one make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say - First, I give and bequeath to my Grandaughter Polly Sneed one bed and such furniture as my other beds has and one black warnut [walnut] bedstead one cow and calf one yoe [ewe] with a black spot on its left shoulder and her lamb and one buck and one shugar [sugar] box. Secondly I give and bequeath to my Grandaughter Caty Sneed one saddle and bridle and one small read chest. I hereby make and ordain my worthy friend Thomas Sneed Executor of this my last will and testament in witnefs [witness] whereof, I the said Jane Sneed have here to let my hand and seal the day and year above written.
