Pitt County, NC - Phenetta Parker & Josiah Pollard - Act to Legitimate ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ An Act to alter the name of Phenetta Parker, of Pitt county, and to legitimate her, and Josiah Wilson Pollard, of the county of Pitt Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the name of Phenetta Parker, is hereby altered to that of Phenetta Pollard; and by that name, shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges heretofore enjoyed under the name of Phenetta Parker. And be it further enacted, That the said Phenetta Pollard, and Josiah Wilson Pollard, be, and they are hereby declared legitimated, and entitled to inherit from their father Reddick Pollard, by descent of distribution, as effectually as if they had been born in wedlock; any thing in any other law to the contrary notwithstanding.
