Date: 30 Apr 1847

State of North Carolina, Pitt County} Know all men by these presents that I, Palmer Cannon, for 
an in consideration of the natural love which I have and bear for my daughter, Eliza Cannon, I 
do hereby give unto her one negro boy, Bryan, aged about five years old. I also give unto my 
daughter Eliza one fifth part of my land containing one hundred and eight acres, also one bed, 
bedstead, and furniture, I do give unto my daughter Eliza and her heirs forever. As witness I do 
hereby set my hand and seal this the 30th of April 1847.

Then this deed of gift from Palmer Cannon to Eliza was proven in open court by the oath of 
Benj. Hazleton, one of the subscribing witnesses thereto. Let it be registered.
