Dawson, Administrator of Mary Wooten, deceased, after giving due notice, proceeded on the 6th day of January 1845 to expose to public sale, by an order of court for that purpose, a certain negro man named Charles which belonged to Mary Wooten, deceased, which was sold by the Administrator for a division on credit of six months, when and where Caleb Cannon became the purchaser at the price of five hundred dollars and twenty-five cents. Now, therefore, know ye that for and in consideration of the said sum of five hundred dollars and twenty-five cents, I, the said John W. Dawson, Administrator of Mary Wooten, deceased, as aforesaid, have granted, bargained and sold, and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Caleb Cannon the above named Charles, and the said Caleb Cannon to have and to hold the above named Charles to his executors and administrators and assigns forever, and I, the said John W. Dawson, Administrator of Mary Wooten, deceased, do warrant and forever defend the title hereby conveyed from the lawful claim of all persons so far forth as I as Administrator am bound and no further.
