All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by Carrie Fleischer - carriefleischer@hotmail.com Deed Book NN Page 34 Grantor: Jonathan FRIZZLE, Executor of the Estate of Jonathan FRIZZLE Grantee: Charles ROGERS or Wife Enslaved person: Mandy Date: 28 Aug 1851 Know all men by these presents that I, Jonathan Frizzle, Executor of the Will of Jonathan Frizzle, deceased, in pursuance of an order of the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions of Pitt County, at the August Term 1851, directing me to sell certain negroes belonging to the estate of my said testator for the purpose of effecting a division among the several legatees of the estate of my said testator, after due and legal advertisement, I did expose to public sale on Thursday the 28th day of August 1851, at the late residence of my said testator, upon a credit of six months, negro girl Mandy, and had the bids upon the same cried until no person would raise the bid of three hundred and sixty-three dollars, which was made by Charles Rogers or wife, and the said negro was knocked off to the said Rogers for the said sum of three hundred and sixty- three dollars, now therefore know all men by these presents that the said Charles Rogers, having complied with the conditions of said sale, I do hereby sell and convey unto him and his executors, administrators, and assigns forever, the said negro girl Mandy, as far forth as my office of Executorship extends and no farther. Then this bill of sale from Jonathan R. Frizzle, Executor, to Charles Rogers or wife was produced into open court and proved in due form of law by the oath of Caleb Cannon, a witness thereto.
