This Indenture made the sixteeth day of February in the Seventh Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Good George the Third and in the Yar of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Eight, between John Haddock Junr. of the province and county aforesaid, planter of the one part and John Haddock Senr. of the province and county aforesaid planter of the other part. Witnessed, that for and in consideration of the sum of fifteen pounds proclamation money by the said John Haddock Senr. to the said John Haddock Junr. in hand paid the receipt whereof is here by fully acknowledged. The said John Haddock Senr. hath given granted and sold and by these presents, doth give, grant, bargain and sell unto the said John Haddock Senr. his heirs and assigns a Certain piece of parcel of land, lying and being in Pitt County on the east of the east prong of Swift Creek, beginning at a post oak on Wains line running south 67 degrees east 140 poles to a pine thence so 16 degrees west 120 poles to a pine then south 75 west 126 poles to the said Wains line then with his line to the first station, containing one hundred acres, being a tract of land, granted unto the said John Haddock Junr. by patent bearing date Nov 16, 1764 reference thereto being had will more fully appear. To have and hold the aforesaid, one hundred acres of land with the appurtenances and all rights privileges and improvements to the same in any wise belonging to him the said John Haddock Senr. his heirs and assigns forever and the said John Haddock Junr. for himself his heirs and assigns, doth hereby covenant and agree to and with the said John Haddock Senr. that he the said John Haddock Senr. his heirs and assigns shall and may forever hereafter peaceably and quietly, have, hold occupy possess and enjoy this afore granted lands and premises without the let or molestation of any persons whatsoever and free and clear from all and all manner of encumbrances whatsoever, and the said John Haddock Senr. doth oblige himself his heirs, executors and administrators to warrant and defent the afore granted lands and premises to him the said John Haddock Senr. his hands and seals the day and year first above written.
