This indenture made the Eighth Day of October in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred Ninety Three between Admiral Haddock of the Province of North Carolina and County of Pitt, planter of the one part and William Haddock of the other part of the said province and county aforesaid planter of the other part witnesseth that for in consideration of the sum of forty pounds lawful money by the said William Haddock to the said Admiral Haddock in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby fully acknowledged I the said Admiral Haddock hath given granted bargained and sold and by these presents doth give grant bargain and sell unto William Haddock his heirs and assigns a certain piece of parcel of land lying and being in Pitt County on the south side of the Tar River and the north east prong of Clayroot Swamp beginning at the stake in said swamp and runs twenty four degrees east forty poles to a cypress in Sarah Taylors line thence north thirty four degrees east seventy poles to a mulberry tree and said Sarah Taylor's corner thence with her line fifty six degrees east one hundred twenty seven poles to a pine then south seventy five degrees east one hundred and twenty poles to a pine thence north thirteen degrees east one hundred and seventy six poles to a pine thence north fifty six degrees one hundred and ninety eight poles to a stake in said Clayroot Swamp thence to the beginning containing two hundred acres more or less it being a tract of land granted unto William Taylor by grant or pattent bearing date one thousand seven hundred and eight seven eighteenth day of May and by him conveyed by deed to Admiral Haddock to have and hold the aforesaid two hundred acres of land with the appurtenance and all rights to and with the said William Haddock that he the said William Haddock his heirs and assigns shall and may forever hereafter peaceably and quietly have hold occupy possess and enjoy the aforesaid granted land and premises without the lust of molestation of any encumbrance whatsoever and these adi Admiral Haddock doth obligee himself his heirs executors and administrators to warrant and defend heirs and assigns forever against the claim of all person whatsoever.
