Pitt County, NC - Luke White to Phillip Pipkin, 1765 ----¤¤¤---- Pitt County, NC Deed Book C Page 244-245 This Indenture made the first day of January in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty five between Luke White of Dobbs County in the Province of North Carolina of the one part and Phillip Pipkin of the same County and Province of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Luke White which for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds proclamation money to him in hand paid by Phillip Pipkin the receipt he doth hereby acknowledge & confess that he is therewith fully satisfied content and paid the said Luke White hath granted bargained and sold alien and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain and sell alien and confirm unto the said Phillip Pipkin his heirs and assigns forever a certain parcel of land situate lying and being in Dobbs County and Pitt County, it being a tract of land conveyed to the said Luke White by the right Honorable Earl Granville by deed bearing date the second day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty two it being for three hundred and sixty acres of land. Begineth as followeth at red oak his corner running with his line North 220 pole to a pine thence west 240 pole a pine thence south 42 pole to an oake in or near Dan'l Pipkin line thence a straight line to the begining. Refferance being thereto had may more fully appear and all profits, comodities, advantages, hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the sd tract of land belonging or in anywise appertaining with the revertion and reversions remainder and remainders rents and services of the sd premises and every part thereof shall the Estate title claim and demand of him the said Luke White of in and to the said land and premises and every part and parcel thereof. To have and to hold the said Tract of land and all and singular the premises, above ment'd and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the sd Phillip Pipkin his heirs and assigns to only proper use benefit and behoof of him the said Phillip Pipkin his heirs and assigns forever and the sd Luke White for him and his heirs the sd tract of land and premises and every part thereof against him and his heirs free and clear of and from all manner of incumbrances the rents now due and hereafter becoming due to the Earl of Granville or his assigns thence always excepted shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents.
