All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Guy Potts http://www.genrecords.net/emailregistry/vols/00017.html#0004214 October 31, 2014, 3:14 am Written: October 12, 1791 Pitt County, NC Register of Deeds Book M, pgs 552-553 Jesse Pipkin Deed to Lewis Pipkin, 1791 This indenture made this twelfth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety one between Jesse Pipkin of Dobbs County in the State of North Carolina Planter of the one part and Lewis Pipkin of Pitt County and state aforesaid Planter of the other part Witnesseth that the said Jesse Pipkin for and in consideration on the sum of four hundred and twenty pounds specie to him in hand paid at and before the ensealing and deliver of these presents the receipt whereof the said Jesse Pipkin doth hereby acknowledge to be therewith fully satisfied and paid and thereof doth acquit and discharge the sd Lewis Pipkin his heirs Exr's and Admr's for ever hath granted bargained sold conveyed and confirmed doth grant bargain and sells unto the said Lewis Pipkin his heirs and assigns forever a certain tact or parcel of land lying and being in Pitt County on the north side of Sandy Run containing by estimation two hundred and fifteen acres it being part of several pattens beginning at the mouth of the spring branch and runs up the run of the East Prong of sd Spring branch to a pine John Moyes corner in the Bear Marsh then south sixty degrees east one hundred and seventy one pole to a white oak in the old patentline that was granted to James Mackelwin Esqr thence north sixty east with old patent to a stake the corner of the old patent thence south thirty east sixty pole to an old oak on the Shady Branch thence down the various courses of the branch to Sandy Run thence up the various courses of the run of the said swamp to the beginning containing by estimation two hundred and fifteen acres. To have and to hold the aforesd premises with all the rights priviliges thereto belonging or any ways appertaining unto the said LewisPipkin his heirs and assigns for ever which peace or parcel of land warrant and defend against the lawfull claim of all and every person or persons, whatsoever. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand andseal this twelfth day of October in the year of our Lord 1791.
