All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Connie Ardrey n/a April 24, 2019, 4:51 am Written: 1818 NC Archives Pitt County, NC Record of Deeds - Book AA - 1817-1818 Citation CR 79, 401.1 9 May 1818 - Indenture between Henry Smith Sheriff of the county of Pitt to Joshua Patrick of same county, witnesseth a Writ of Vanditionus issued from Craven County Court returnable to the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions to be held on the (blank) Monday of (blank) 1817 in which the president and director of the bank of Newbern were the plaintiffs and Frederick Mills Jun'r was defendant issued to the said Sheriff commanding him to sell certain Negroes which had been levied on to satisfy said execution and the said Sheriff in pursuance of the said writ and exposed for sale a certain Negro woman slave Winey and her child Cato the property aforesaid Mills to the highest bidder when said Joshua Patrick bid the sum of five hundred and fifty dollars and being the highest bidder the same was struck off to him.
