I, the said Asa Stocks, do warrant and defend the right and title of said negro boy absolutely, without any manner of conditions. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this the 25th of October AD 1847. his Asa x Stocks [seal mark] mark Signed, sealed and delivered in presence of William Burney William Cox February Term 1848 Then this deed of gift from Asa Stocks to Elisha Lang was proven in open court by the evidence of William Cox, one of the subscribing witnesses thereto.
