I Asa Garis, of contentnea Township, Pitt co., NC, beintg of sound
mind and memory do hereby make and declard this to be my last will
and testament and desire that my ex shall divide and partition my
real and personal property as wellas all my other property according
tothe direction in the several items below numbered and given:

Item 1   I desire that my wf Anna E. Garris shall have her dower on
lot no l in my home tract of land shown by the plot hereto attached.
I also give and bequeath to her one holf of all my household and
kitchen furniture, aone half of all crop and one holf of all horses,
cattle, hogs and stock of any kind and one hold of all farming
utensiss and one half of ll personal property on my farm the home
place

Item 2   I give , devise and bequeath to my son Louis C Garris lot no
2 in the plot of my land, it being 31 a more or less and 125 dollars
of money to be pd by my ex and of  the funds in her hands.

Item 3   I give divise and bequeath to my dau Pheddie A Garris and
Ella A Garris land lot no 5 in the plot of my land as attached hereto
containing 56 a more or less and 125 dollars each in money to be pd
by my ex

Item 4   I give devise and bequeath to my sons Amos L Garris and
Grover C Garris lot no 1 in the plot of my land contaning 96 a more
or less and being the same tract named in item 1, also town lots no
17, and 20 in the plot of littlefield hereto attached and 1/2 of all
my household and kitchen furnitureand 1/2 of all crops, horses,
cattle, hogs and stock of any kindand 1/2 of all my personal property
on the farm athe half herein named being the other half of the
personally bequeathed in item 1.  They shall pay to my ex for my
estate 175 dollars each before receivin the benefits under this will

Item 5   I give and devise and bequeath to Susan E Beddard, John W.
Garris, Louis C Garris, Pheddie A Garris, Ella A Garris, Amos L
Garris, and Grover C Garris, lot no 6 in my home tract containing 38
a more or less each to have 1/7 interest in said lot.

Item 6  The share of my property which my children Susan E Beddard,
lanie A Garris, AE Garris, EB Garris, John #W Garris, Nehemiah Garris,
 Pinnie L Hart would have been entitled to at my death other than the
lot mentioned in item 5 as lot no 6 I have conveyed to them by deed
of gift as all they are ever to receive except the shares of lot no 6
above mentioned.  out of or from my estate

Item 7  I do hereby name and appoint my wf Ann E Garris as my ex to
carry out the provisions herein contained.  In witnesswhereof I asa
Garris do hereto set my hand and seal this 22 day of January 1904
