Floyd wdfloyd@rfci.net ==================================================================== LITTLE DOG CEMETERY Polk County, NC By W. D. Floyd This cemetery does not have any readable markers in it. It has one large hand- hewn stone standing and one laying flat and there is at least one grave marked with fieldstones. To locate this cemetery from Rutherfordton, NC take Highway US-221 south to the traffic light that is about one mile south of town and turn right onto Coxe Rd. Follow Coxe Rd. until it runs into Polk County and the name will change to Sandy Plains Rd. After entering Polk County go to the second intersection which is a full cross-roads and turn left onto Coxe Rd. Follow Coxe Rd. to the first road to the right, just before a bridge, go a couple hundred feet out this gravel road and find a driveway angling back to the right and a sign that says Little Dog Farm. The cemetery is in the clump of trees on top of the little round hill. I could not find anyone that could tell me anything about the cemetery hence it is called “Little Dog Cemetery”. I was there February 9, 1999. These pages and information thereon are not to be reproduced in any form for profit or distribution without the permission of W. D. Floyd © Copyright 1997-1998
