Bradshaw CSC Lea Elder, being duly sworn doth say : That John Elder, late of said county is dead, having first made and published his last will and testament ; and that Lea Elder is the executor named therein. Further , that the property of the said John Elder consisting of real and personal property is worth about $80000, so far as can be ascertained at the date of this application; and that Lea Elder, Margaret Elder, Martin Elder, William Elder, Jabez Elder's heirs, Nancy J. Royls ( Royals) and Emily Royls ( Royals ) are the parties entitled under said will to said property. Sworn to and subscribed before me signed Lea Elder this 25th day of June 1887 signed Geo. S. Bradshaw Certificate of Probate State of North Carolina ss. Randolph County In the Probate Court A paper purporting to be the last will and testament of John Elder, deceased, is exibited before me , the under signed Judge of Probate for said county, by Lea Elder the executor therein mentioned, and the due execution thereof by the said John Elder by the oath and examniation of John Thomas Arnold and James Eugene Lanier, the subscribing witnesses thereto : who, being duly sworn, doth depose and say and each for himself deposeth and saith, that he is a subscribing witness to the paper- writing now shown him purporting to be the last will and testament of John Elder; that the said John Elder, in the presence of this deponent, subscribed his name at the end of said paper- writing, which is now shown as aforesaid, which bears the date of the 11th day of March 1886. And the deponent further saith, that the said John Elder, the testator aforesaid, did, at the time of subscribing his name as aforesaid, declare the said paper- writing so subscribed by him and exhibited , to be his last will and testament, and this deponent did thereupon did subscribe his name at the end of said will, as an attesting witness thereto, and at the request and in the presence of the said testator. And this deponent further saith, that the said time when the testator subscribed his name to the said last will as aforesaid, and the time of the deponents subscribing his name as attesting witness thereto, as aforesaid the said John Elder was of sound mind and memory, of full age to execute a will, and was not under any restraint to the knowledge , information, or belief of this deponent: and further these deponents say not. signed John Thomas Arnold seal James Eugene Lanier seal Sevenly sworn and subscribed this 25th day of June 1887 before me. signed Geo.
