Loose papers in Randolph Co., NC File SCARLET, John - 1860 One paper in file (letter) Marion, KY Feby 25th. 1860 Dear Sir, Though a stranger I think I can make it your interest to give me some information which may be of value to myself and for which I will amply renumerate(sic) you. I am the husband of Jemima Scarlett, who is a daughter of John Scarlet, deceased, who once lived in your county, but who has long since died in Barren Co., KY. I am informed that there is some land lying not far from your town which legally belongs to the heirs of said John Scarlet, and my object in writing is to ascertain correctly and speedily how the matter stands, so that I may take some steps to enforce the rights of my wife and myself, which if there is any show, I will do by coming out or empowering you to act in the matter for us. At any rate you should be paid for any trouble you may be at. Please answer without delay. Yours Respectfully, Charles Reynolds Jemima Reynolds" Additional Comments: Transcribed by Margaret A Hutchinson from original document obtained by Kay Leydig.
