All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Nancy Poquette npoq@hotmail.com March 29, 2008, 4:35 pm Bounty Land Application Of Sally Hannor, Widow Of John Hannor, Natl Archives Microseries 805, Roll 396, BLWT #36221-160-55 State of Missouri, County of Cooper} On this 30th day of June, 1855, personally appeared before me, a judge of the Probate Court within and for the county and state aforesaid, Sally Hannor, aged about 84 years, a resident of Cooper County in the state of Missouri, who being duly sworn according to law, declares that she is the widow of John Hannor, who was a corporal and private in the companies, corps or detachments commanded by captains Johnston and Knight and others, in the different regiments or battalions of North Carolina militia commanded by colonel ‘Paasley’ [Paisley] or Poasley and by Col. Luttrell in the Revolutionary War. That her said husband volunteered or was drafted at the counties of Randolph, Chatham and other places n the state of North Carolina in the years 1779, 1780 and 1781 for an indefinite period and continued in actual service in said war for the terms of about 18 months or two years, and was honorably discharged at Randolph and Chatham and Salisbury in North Carolina in the months of April 1779, December 1780, June 1780, September 1780 and March 1781, as will appear by the several certificates of discharge herewith presented, and by the muster rolls of the said companies and regiments. She further states that she was married to the said John Hannor in Halifax, Virginia on the 13th day of December,1792 by one Thomas Dobson, a minister of the Gospel, and that her name before her said marriage was Sally Fintch. That her said husband died at Halifax County in the state of Virginia on the 20th day of November, 1825, and that she is a widow at the date of executing this, her declaration. She further declares that she has never received or before applied for Bounty Land under this or any other Act of Congress and herewith presents a certified copy of the public record of her marriage, and she states that there is no private or family record of the death of her said husband. She makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the Bounty Land to which she may be entitled under the Act of Congress of March 3, 1855. Sally Hannor.
