The Standard of Raleigh, Dec. 10, 1862
   DIED, at his residence in Randolph County, N. C., on the 3rd of November, 
1862, MR. JESSE CRABB in the 87th year of his age. The deceased was a soldier 
in the War of 1812 -- was in the service many years at Charleston and 
Savannah -- was honorably discharged at Smithville, N. C. He lived out his 
four score year and six and a half, wanting one day, a humble, unobtrusive 
citizen, without enemies -- a member of the M. E. Church for many years.
