Funeral at Smith & Buckner Funeral Home Chapel; Rev. Mike Sykes and Father Jim Fukes officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Siler City, NC. Born February 11, 1926, the son of the late Howard T. and the late Besta (Way) Brown. Native of Randolph County, survived by his wife Dixie Smith Brown; niece Terry Brown Highfill of Charlotte, NC; nephews, Jeffrey Brown of Charlotte, NC and David Brown of Asheboro, NC.-Pugh SOPHIA-Kathleen "Kat" Smoot Kennedy, passed February 29, 2008. Funeral services in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service of Archdale; Pastor Bill Blevins officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Garden Memorial Park. Born November 20, 1927 to Mr. & Mrs. Ed Smoot. Preceded in death by her husband, Dolphes Kennedy. Survived by her three daughters; Linda Redmon and her husband Larry of Thomasville, Wanda Holder and Ruth "Peanut" Kennedy of the home, five grandchildren; Larry "Jr" Redmon, Eddie Redmon, Lynn Holder, Dawn Holder and Christy Holder Oxendine. She is also survived by three great grandchildren; Cody Higgins, Kaitlyn Redmon and Logan Redmon.
