Services will be Dec. 5, 2005, at 11:30 a.m. at Memorial United Methodist Church, Charlotte, with the Reverends Keith Bingham and Peggy Bridgers officiating. Interment will follow thereafter in Evergreen City Cemetery. Born in Randolph County on Nov. 16, 1914, and was the daughter of the late Cicero Thomas and Emma Ward Kirkman. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, John Clarence Hackett; sisters, Vesta Poe, Ruth Langley and Emma Kirkman; brothers, James and Richard Kirkman; and son-in-law, Dan Wayne Anderson. Survivors include her three daughters, Betty Anderson of Brunswick, Ga., Shirley Garnett and husband, John, of Rock Hill, S.C., Janet Ennis of Kirkland, Wash.; three grandsons, Richard Garnett and wife, Debbie, of Rock Hill, S.C., Steve Anderson and wife, Suzanne, of Brunswick, Ga., Scott Anderson and wife, Julie, of Evans, Ga.; four great-grandchildren, Jessica and Elizabeth Garnett of Rock Hill, S.C., Cole and Keaton Anderson of Evans, Ga. Also surviving are her sister, Kathleen Taylor of Greensboro; brother, Russell Kirkman and wife, Jewel, of Asheboro; and several nieces and nephews.
