I farther will that after my death my executor shall sell all the balance of my property at public auction which I possess. Also collect all the debts due my estate, and pay all my just debts out of the same, and I desire that all the proceeds ariseing out of the above named property, shall be equally devided between by six children (viz) Harriss Russell, and the heirs of Ansly Russell, Zebadee Russell, Eli Russell, Elijah Russell, and Willie Russell, all 6 share alike, in the monies arising as named above, and I appoint my son Zebadee Russell my Executor to carry out this my last will and testament. Note: This transcription is by Nancy Williams Gilmer, a descendant of Harris and Leah Steed Russell of Randolph County, NC, who moved to Coweta County, GA, in 1833. Candis' son, Zebedee, was later charged by some of the heirs with keeping the estate which was valued at $1,000. Zebedee was found not guilty.
