Last Will and Testament of Seth Cranford In the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen: I Seth Cranford of Randolph County and State of North Carolina being in health of body and sound memory, mind and understanding. Praise be to God for the same; do make this my last will and testament in the manner and form following. First, that my executors hereafter named shall provide for my body a decent burial suitable to the wishes of my friends and relations and pay all funeral expenses together with all my just debts however and to whomsoever out of the money that may first come to their hands as a part an parcel of my estate. Item: I give and devise to my beloved ( 2nd) wife, Caroline Cranford; Thirty acres of land including all the buildings wherein I now live. set and by mets and bounds as follows: Beginning at the small walnut South east of the dwelling house, running 7 degrees West thirteen and a half ----- to a small pine marked as a corner, a few chains North of the barn, Thence West 8 chains to a small apple tree west side of road; Thence with the road one chain to a stake on side of road, Thence South about 61 degrees West 3 * chains to middle of said road, the mouth of a lane running west; thence with said lane west 11 degrees North 1 * chains to a stake in the middle of said lone; thence South 22 chains to a small post oak west side of road; thence South 13 degrees west with said road 6 * chains to the branch at the fence, a small pine marked for a corner: North bank of said branch, Thence down the various courses of said branch 54 degrees East 18 chains to a cherry tree; thence North 25 chains to the beginning for and during the term of her natural life in satisfaction for and in lieu of her drawin and thirds of and in all my real estate. Item: I give and devise to my three daughters towit: Mirick Wood, wife of Hill Wood, Nancy Cranford, wife of Nathan Cranford, and Fannie Cranford all my land including the track on which I now live except the life estate of my beloved wife devised in a form an of this my will, to have and to hold to them and their heirs jointly and equally in fee simple forever state this is for and in consideration (next ten or so words missing) to my three sons. Item: I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Caroline all the personal property she owned and possessed at the time of our marriage and the increase of the stock she owned at that time and all the personal property she accumulates from our marriage till my death, and two hundred dollars in cash if on hand at my demise, if not on hand to be paid to her by my executors herein named out of the money that may first come into their hands as a part or parcel of my estate, that according to an agreement made by us, her property is to forever to belong to her. Mine on my demise descends to my heirs. Item: I give and will that my beloved wife Caroline shall have one years support of the stock, crops and provisions that may be on hand at my demise to be allotted to her by three fareholders indifferently chosen. Item: That my executors herein named shall of public sale sell every and all my personal property and divide the proceeds of said sale equally among my heirs Lee Cranford and Chortie Cranford children of Clark Cranford decąd one share, Morley Cranford one share, Calvin Cranford one share, Mirick Wood wife of Hill Wood one share, Nancy Cranford wife of Nathan one share, Fannie Cranford one share. Item: I do hereby appoint and constitute my two trusty sons Morley Cranford and Calvin Cranford my lawful executors to all intents and purposes To execute this my last will and testament according to the line intent and meaning of the same and every part and clause thereof, hereby revoking and declining literally void all other wills and testaments by me herefore made. In witness whereof I this said Seth Cranford do hereunto set my hand and seal.
