This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Nadine Holder nadin@C2i2.com *************************************************************** In the name of god amen the Eighteenth day of April in the year of our lord 1782, I John Cannady of Randolph County and State of North Carolina, planter, being very sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to god and knowing that is appointed for all men once to die do make & ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say first of all I give and recommend my soul unto the hand of god that gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a desant Christian manner at the duration of my Executors and as to such worldly estate with which it hath pleased god to bless me with in this life I give and bequeath the same in the following manner and form. Imprimis, it is my will and I do order that the plantation where on I do now live be sold to pay my debts. Secondly to my wife Sarah Kennady all my stock of cattle hogs and all of my plantation tools and household furniture bed beding & if there is any ...of money left after paying my ...debts I leave the same to my wife, likewise to my son William Kannady one shilling sterling, likewise to my son John Kannady one shilling sterling and like wise to my daughter Ann one shilling sterling. Item, I allow and order that my son Sharrard Canady to have all the above mentioned good and chattles that my wife may leave at her death in her possession and I likewise constitute and appoint my son Sharrard Canady and Samuel Lewis to be my sole executors to this my last Will and Testament and I do hearby revoake and disavow null all other Wills by me maid ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last Will and Testament. In witness thereof I have here unto set my hand and seal the day and year above mentioned.
