RANDOLPH COUNTY, NC - WILLS - Gabriel Russell, 1856 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Last Will and Testament March 7, 1856 In the name of God, Amen. I, Gabriel Russell being of sound and perfect mind and memory in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty six make and publish this my last will and testament revoken all other wills or bills of sails or deeds of gifts or any other or or that may be set up against my property that is to say in memory as follows: I give and bequeath to my wife Mary Russell the tract of land with the improvements that we live on at this time contain two hundred acres duren hir natural life time or widerhood all so I give and bequeath to my wife Mary a negro woman by the name of Nancy to take care of hir and if she be dead the land be sold at the highest bidder and be divided amongst my children and for Aby to take the negro woman Nancy for hir property, I, Gabriel, do give and bequeath to my wife Mary one feather bed and furniture one loom one flax wheel one cotton wheel one clock and as much of furniture as is nesery one cow and calf and as much grain and wheat and meat and sugar and coffey as will do her or them one year and at the of my wife Mary or if she be married to another man my will is that the household and kitchen furniture shall be sold and divided up amongst my children. I also now name the property that my wife brought here when she came home with me. One feather bed and furnitude one small chist one falden table this property she is to do with this as she pleases in life and at her death it belong to her children. By my will I also give and bequeath to my son Wilson Russell one negro man by the name of Ned beside what he hath had and I also give and bequeath to my son Milba Russell a negro boy by the name of Handy beside what he hath had and I also give and bequeath to my son Ensley a negro boy by the name of John beside what he hath had I also give and bequeath to my son Whitson Russell a negro man by the name of David and two hundred acres of land where he now lives beside what he had I also give to my darter Aby the wife of Cornelius Varner a negro woman by the name of Nancy whn my wife is done with hir besides what she hath had I also give and bequeath to my darter Dovey a negro by the name of Morris (?) beside what she hath had I also give and bequeath to my darter Lovey the wife of Harris Hill in stid of a negro three hundred and fifty dollars as she is livin in a free state beside what she hath had I also give and bequeath to my darter Margaret the wife of Benjamin Harrison a negro woman by the name of Mary beside what she hath had I also give and bequeath to my darter Sidney the wife of James Allen a negro girl by the name of Eady beside what she hath had and if she has to take the she is fore years old she must have fifty dollars to make her up equal and there is one hundred and twenty acres east to given the old track to be sold and forty acres to be given Wilson and Whitson and the old track and I wood that the two boys wood divide it between them at a fair valuation for it wood soot them both but above all things I want you to execute this in and over me when I am in my grave. And now I will state to you that this is my last will and testament hoping that it will be executed. I want to execute it my sons Wilson Russell and Whitson Russell.
