Welborn Who for their verdict say, That they find that the paper writing offered for probate, marked A in the following words & figures. to wit - State of North Carolina ) Randolph County ) I. William RIDGE, Senr., being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory, but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence, do make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following , that is to say, first I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Jane RIDGE all my estate both real and personal to be hers and at her disposal during her natural life. Item. I give and bequeath unto my Grandson Ransom RIDGE one dollar Item. I give and bequeath unto my Grand daughter Abigail ARNOLD one dollar Item. I give and bequeath unto my Grandson Branson RIDGE one dollar, besides what their father Thomas RIDGE has already received. Item. I give and bequeath unto my Grand daughter Jane LASSITER one dollar. Item. I give and bequeath unto my Grand daughter Rebecca LOWE one dollar. Item. I give and bequeath unto my Grandson Noah DUNBAR one dollar besides what their mother Sarah DUNBAR has already received. Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Rebecca RUSH one negro girl by the name of Frank to be hers after the death of her mother. Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Jane HICKS one negro boy by the name of Paten to be hers after the death of her mother. Item. I give and bequeath unto my son William RIDGE fifty dollars in money, over and above what he has already received to be his after the death of his mother. Item. I give and bequeath unto my son Meredith RIDGE the land and possessions whereon I now live and fifty dollars in money to be his after the death of his mother, and after his death to be equally divided between his four sons, Thomas, Willis, William and Dougan RIDGE besides what he has already received. Item. I give and bequeath unto my daughter Mary MILLER one negro girl by the name of Kitty, to be hers after the death of her mother, my desire is, that all the residue of my property not heretofore named to be equally divided between my three daughters , Rebecca RUSH, Jane HIX and Mary MILLER after their Mothers death and lastly I do hereby Constitute and appoint my sons in law Ninevey RUSH and Jesse MILLER my executors to this my last will and testament revoking and declaring void, all former wills and testaments by me made, in witness whereof I the said William RIDGE , Senr. do hereunto set my hand and seal this the 24th day of May Anno Domini 1845. Whereupon Ninevah RUSH and Jesse Miller the executors therein named appeared in open Court and were Qualified and obtained letters Testamentary on the said estate of William RIDGE deceased.
