He and Micajah Casey were the only two Casey males in the 1790 Wayne Census and it isn't known if they were related. Jeremiah's neighbors in Wayne County deeds had land grants along Aycock Swamp in 1783 and 1794. The swamp begins east of Fremont and flows north easterly to Black Creek so the land location could have been anywhere along the swamp courses. This would have placed Jeremiah on the north side of Neuse River and a good distance from Micajah on the south side of the river. ----- Dobbs County, NC - 1779 Voter List At an election of one Senator and Two Members of the House of Commons to Represent the county of Dobbs held at the Court House the 10th and 11th of March, 1779, the following persons voted for Members of the House of Commons to wit: Jeremiah Casey, others. Kinston Daily Free Press from Mrs. B. Braxton Jones. Jeremiah Case from Wayne County, NC and residence year 1780 signed two petitions endorsed 12 Feb 1782 to the General Assembly from inhabitants of Wayne County asking for new Commissioners. Indenture made September 21, 1783 between John King and Jeremiah Casey both of Wayne, for 10 pounds land in Wayne joining Silas Hollowell lines and Joshua Davis line to the old road and containing 120 acres. Indenture made 24 Jan 1788 between Etheldred Ruffin of Dobbs and John Skitto of Edgecombe, for 117 pounds land in Wayne on the south side of Great Contentnea Creek adjacent to the plantation whereon Jeremiah Casey formerly lived, Dunnaho Swamp, Ric'd Atkinsons line, Cornelius Outlands line containing 175 acres. Wayne County, NC 1790 Census - Jeremiah Casey, 3 M under 16, 1 M 16 and over, 4 F Indenture made July 29, 1796 between Jeremiah Casey and David Newsom both of Wayne, for $150 land in Wayne joining the lands of Silas Hollowell lines, John and Joshua Davis's lines, with the old road and containing 120 acres. Indenture made 4 Nov 1796 between John Denson and Jeremiah Casey both of Richmond, for 100 pounds land in Richmond lying on the rocky fork of Hedgecock Creek containing 200 acres.
