Argus Written: May 1854 Recorded: June 10, 1854 STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA Superior Court Richmond County Spring Term, 1854 JAMES THOMPSON vs. ELIZA THOMPSON Petition for Divorce In this case, it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that the defendant, ELIZA THOMPSON, resides beyond the limits of this State: It is therefore orderd by the Court that publication be made for six successive weeks in the North Carolina Argus, a newspaper published in the Town of Fayetteville, notifying said defendant non-resident to be and appear at our next Superior Court at the Court House at Rockingham on the 3rd Monday in September next. Then and there to plead, answer or deur to this petition filed: Otherwise judgment will be taken pro confesso and heard ex parte as to them. Witness R. S.
