All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Nancy Poquette npoq@hotmail.com May 22, 2006, 4:52 am Written: November 2, 1811 Recorded: November 16, 1885 Richmond County, NC Deed Book PP, pages 46-47, Microfilm 082.____: Deed to Kenneth McKenzie from JOSEPH MCDOWELL and wife “This indenture made this 2nd day of November in the year of our Lord 1811, between JOSEPH MCDOWELL and ELIZABETH, his wife, of the state of Tennessee, Robertson County of the first part, and Kenneth McKenzie of the state of North Carolina, Richmond County, of the other part: “Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred dollars to us in hand paid by the said Kenneth McKenzie, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and ourselves fully satisfied and paid, we the said MCDOWELL and wife hath given, granted, bargained, sold, and by these presents do give grant, bargain and sell unto the said Kenneth McKenzie, his heirs and assigns forever: “All that tract of land or parcel of lands situated in the county of Richmond, state of North Carolina lying on the northeast side of PeeDee River and on the southeast side of the main fork of Cartledge’s Creek, beginning at a dogwood on the side of a branch, Covington’s corner, of a sixteen acre tract and runs North 53 East, 45 poles to Covington’s line of his home tract, then with said line South 50 East to where THOMAS’s old line intersects the same, then with said line South 15 West to the corner, then with his other line to the 4th corner of THOMAS’s 150 acre survey, then with the 3rd line of said survey reverse South 160 poles, thence with his 2nd line reverse North 75 West 87 poles to a corner, then direct to the beginning, containing 92 acres according to estimation, together with improvements, woods, underwoods, ways, profits, commodities, etc.” Signed JOSEPH MCDOWELL witnessed James Thomas ELIZABETH [her mark] MCDOWELL Peter Covington North Carolina Richmond County “On this 16th day of November 1885, personally appeared before me, Z.
