All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Nancy Poquette npoq@hotmail.com May 27, 2006, 9:04 pm From North Carolina State Archives, Microfilm C.082.40002, Richmond County Record of Deeds, Vol. C, page 784-785: Written: December 19, 1795 The 19th day of December, 1795, between Philemon Thomas, and Elizabeth, his wife, of Richmond County and state of North Carolina, and William Long: “That part of a tract of land situated lying and being in the County of Richmond, formerly Anson on the ___ or middle prong of Cartiledge’s Creek, northeast of Pedee River;” “Beginning at a stake in said creek where the home line of said tract crosses said creek, and runs up the various courses of said creek until it intersects with the first line of said tract, then as said line north 78 east 50 links to a white oak said to be William Stutley Shearly’s corner, then as his line north 15 east 50 chains to a stake at the head of a small drain two pines pointers, then south 75 east 20 chains and 25 links to a corner, then north 15 east 25 chains to a corner in the 5th line of said tract, then as said line north 75 west 40 chains and 25 links, then south 7 west 24 chains and 50 links to the first station on said Creek containing 150 acres as appears by his grant bearing the date the 18th of April 1771, together with, etc. Philemon Thomas, Elizabeth Thomas.
