Thurs. Aug. 9, 1860   North Carolina Argus August 9, 1860
   -- A gentleman writing to us on business from Rockingham, Richmond, under 
date of the 2nd inst. says:
     "In the street today, J. T. BARTON shot YOUNGER NEWTON with a pistol. 
BARTON is in jail. NEWTON is thought to be mortally wounded. Caused by an old 
grudge."
