MRS. BYRD LAID TO REST

The funeral of Mrs. Susan Byrd, more commonly known as Mitcham, whose death at 
the home of her son, Mr. B.J. Mitcham last Wednesday morning, was held from 
the Baptist church at 11 o'clock Thursday morning and the remains were laid to 
rest in the town cemetery.

Mrs. Byrd was born in Richmond County, N.C. 93 years ago. Her second husband, 
Mr. Byrd, died a short while after their marriage.  She leaves a large and 
respectable family to mourn the death of a good mother and patient christian 
woman.
