Alexander Cameron McKinnon’s 3rd wife, Sarah McQueen Currie McKinnon. Sarah 
was first married to Hector Currie who died 1855. Sarah was born in 1827 in 
Robeson County to Donald and Katherine McQueen and died 11 Oct 1874 in 
Richmond County. Alexander and Sarah had 5 children in Richmond County – 
Archibald Alexander, Martin McQueen, Catherine J., Alexander James, and Angus 
Currie. The portrait of Sarah is believed to have been done around the time of 
her marriage to Alexander in 1856.
