Directions: Old cemetery is right beside Hwy 41, on left side of highway going from South Carolina toward Fairmont; one half mile beyond last bridge across Ashpole Swamp, 4.8 miles north of NC/SC state line; this cemetery is only a few hundred yards to the west of Hogg Swamp. It is enclosed by a low brick wall, in the edge of a field. Copied by Jo Church Dickerson, 1997. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Large brick raised slab - not very old, 4 courses high & bricked across top, with a rather new looking plaque on top center: Jesse Lee; born 1735 - died 1816 his wife Judith Shelley born 1738 - died 1795 at bottom, a separate plaque shaped like a shield: Revolutionary Soldier Jesse Lee 1776-1783; placed by the Col. Thomas Robeson Chapter DAR. Old wooden marker beside brick slab - no markings visible. In Memory of Rosanna wife of Hinant Faulk 2 Nov 1804 - 20 Sep 1853 Hennant Faulk 1794 - 3 Apr 1872 Our father has gone to a mansion of rest To the Glorious land by the Piety blest. Daniel A. Faulk 23 Aug 1831 - 9 Dec 1877 He cometh forth like a flower and is cut down, he fleeth also as a Shadow and continueth. Not my will but Thine be done. Behind this stone, three in a row: Baby; born Sep 6 - died Sep 24 1882 Our Twins; April 23, 1873 In Memory of James W. Faulk; 16 Aug 1863 - 18 Aug 1865 There are no other markers in this cemetery.
