It was constituted in 1833, and it was in existence for a period of eleven years. From 1833 through the time it dissolved in 1844 the following families frequented it’s fellowship: Best, Bell, Biggs, Carter, Freeman, Fulmore, Howell, Humphrey, Ivey, Johnson, Kersey, Moore, Munroe, Musslewhite, Norment, Phillips, Potter, Powell, Revell, Rice, Rozier, Sanderson, Sexton, Smith, Surl (e)s, Thompson, Townsend, Warwick, West, Willis, Wishart, and Woodall. On the Saturday before the fourth Sabbath in April, 1844 the church voted to dissolve it’s organization. On that day is was agreed that the church dissolve, and the members take letters of dismission and join other churches; that James A. Rozier the clerk to write letters; that J. F. McCall sign a letter for J. A. Rozier; that J. A. Rozier write a letter to the association stating the reason of our dissolution; that the church book remain with James A. Rozier; and the dissolution was completed on Saturday, April 27th, 1844. At the time of the dissolution, most of the remaining members connected themselves to Antioch Baptist Church. A little over eleven years later, members from Antioch constituted the Lumberton Baptist Church [now First Baptist] on July 1, 1855.
