Lumberbridge
              January 22nd 1865
 
Mr Peter Monroe was received
and admitted to full communion
by a certificate from Rev Luther
McKinnon Chaplain of 36th
Regt N. C. T. certifying that from
Evidence he gave of a change from
Heart he was a fit Subject for
Church membership

Additional Comments:
Historical note:  On March 9th, 1865 General W. T. Sherman, on Sherman’s March 
through the Carolina’s, had the Lumber Bridge Presbyterian Church house and the 
Temperance Hall dismantled, and the lumber thereof was used to build a road through

the adjoining swamp which allowed his troops to ascend north to Fayetteville, NC.
