STATE –VS- ADAH CARTER      BIGAMY

State of North Carolina }   Superior Court of
      Robeson County    {   Law began and
                        }   held for the County
                        }   of Robeson at the
                        {   Court house in Lumberton
                        }   on the fourth Monday of
                        {   March in the year of our
                        }   Lord one thousand Eight
                            hundred and forty One
The Jurors for the State upon their oath present that Adah Carter late of 
Robeson did marry one Alexander Carter and him the said Alexander Carter then 
and there had for her husband, and that the said Adah Carter afterwards, to 
wit on the tenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight 
hundred and thirty six with force and arms in the County of Robeson 
feloniously did marry and take for her husband one William Woodle (the said 
Alexander Carter her former husband being then alive) against the peace and 
dignity of the State ~
