GUNN Levy on Land On motion, it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that WILLIAM W. GUNN, the defendant, in this case, is a non-resident of the State and at February Term of this Court, 1856, REUBEN KING, ESQ., Sheriff of said County, then and there returns into open court an Execution and Levy upon 400 acres of land situate, lying and being in sd. Coounty on the South side of Lumber river, joiining the lands of JOHN GUNN, CHARLES IVEY, and others: Also, one other tract containing 85 acres lying on the Raft Swamp, joining the lands of JAMES HUMPHREY and others,it is ordered by the Court that publications be made in the N. C. Argus, a newspaper published in the town of Fayetteville, notifying the said WILLIAM GUNN, defendant,to be and appear before the Justices of the said Court to be holden for the County aforesaid at the Court House in Lumberton on the 4th Monday in August next, then and there to show by his pleadings why garnished land, so levied on, shall not be sold to satisfy the said Plaintiff's demand, interest and costs.
