State of No Carolina
                        By His Excellency John Owen Esquire Gov-
ernor Captain General and Commander in Chief in & over the
State aforesaid – To all to whom these presents shall some greeting.
            Whereas it appears by a petition that at the last Superior
Court of Robeson County a certain Neill Crawford was convicted
of a maim, and sentenced to pay a fine of fifty dollars and cost
of prosecution, and to be imprisoned six month ~ and as it
is a presented to me that he is a
proper subject for Executive Clemency
Now, therefore, Know Ye, that in pursu-
ance of the power and authority
in me vested by the constitution of
this State and for satisfactory reasons;
I do, hereby, remit three months of said
Imprisonment ~ of all which the
Sheriff of Robeson County and all others concerned are required
to take special notice and act accordingly ~
Given under my hand as Governor and
under the great Seal of the State at the
City of Raleigh this 8th day of October
A.D. 1830. ~
