ROBESON COUNTY COURT OF PLEAS & QUARTER SESSIONS
MAY TERM 1855 [Tues May 29th, 1855]
 
State              } Bastardy    }  on motion Dolpin Harden
                                 { Elizabeth  { principal and Edward
 vs                } Roberts     } S Lewis Security Came
Dolphin Harden     {             { into Court and
                               Each acknowledged
                themselves Indebted to the State
                of North Carolina in the Sum of Two
                Hundred and fifty dollars each to be
                Levied on their goods and Chattels Lands and
             Tenement to be void on Condition however that
the Said Dolphin Harden make his personal
appearance before the Justices of our said Court at a Court
of Pleas and quarter SeSsions to be holden for the County
of Robeson at the Court House in Lumberton on the
fourth Monday in August next then and there to answer
the State of North Carolina in a Charge of Bastardy where he
Stands Charged by Elizabeth Roberts a Single woman – and not
depart the Same without leave of said Court.
