E 6 chains and 56 links to his corner a Stake in a Bay then N 11’ W. 32 chains to a stake three small oaks – and a lightwood stump in the original line then a long that line S 50’ W 6 chains & fifty links to the Corner of Lot No 1 – then along that line to the beginning. Containing 20 acres Drawn as the share of Esther Locklear and allotted to her valued At $20 – Lot No 3 Beginning at the Second Corner of lot No 2 and Runs – No 35, E. 8 chains – to a lightwood knot by three lightwood Stumps about 100 yards South of David Revels House then N 11 W. 31. chains to a pine two oaks & pine in the original line then S 50 W 7. chains to the Corner of lot No 2. then along that line to the Beginning Containing 20 acres valued at $15 Drawn for Jeremiah Revels as his Share and allotted to him. Lot. No 4. Beginning at a lightwood Knot the second Corner of Lot. No 3. & runs N 35 E 12 chains & 50 links to a stake two Small BlackJacks and Sweet Gum in the original line then along that line N. 25 ‘ W 9’ chains & fifty links to a stake then then N 30 W. 3 chains & 50 links to Israels Corner then along that line N. 2 E. 18 chains to the original Corner then S. 50. W.15 chains to a Stake and two pines in Wisharts line then along his line N. 45. W. 10 chain to his corner then along the other lines to the Beginning 20 acres valued at $15 – drawn as the share of Isaac Revels and allotted to him. Lot No 6. Beginning at the 4th Corner of Lot. No 5 and runs as that line N. 45 E 13. chains to the 2nd Corner of lot No 5 then along the original line S 33 E. 16. chains to a Stake and two pines then S 33. W 15. chains to a stake Dennis Revels Corner in Wisharts line then along his line N 40. E 4. chs. To his Corner then direct to the beginning – Containing 20 acres valued at $25. Drawn as the share of Elias Revels and allotted to him. Lot No. 7. Beginning at Dennis Revels Corner & Runs N 33. e 15 chains to a Stake and two pines in the Original line then as that line S33. E. 26. chains to a Stake then S 11. W. 5. chains to Denis Revels Corner then as his line to the Beginning valued At $25. (Seal) From the above division we find that Burwell Revels had seven children, i.e.: 1) John Revels 2) Esther Locklear 3) Jeremiah Revels 4) Jordan Revels, father of William Coleman Revels, who was born in 1838, see later. 5) Isaac Revels 6) Elias Revels 7) David Revels.
