All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Sam West - sam.west.1@gmail.com State of North Carolina Robeson County This Indenture made this the 3rd day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and fifty two between Thomas A Norment Chairman of the County of the County and State aforesaid on behalf of the Justices of Said County and their SucceSsors on the one part and Enoch McNeill of the other part WitneSseth that the said Thomas A Norment pursuant to n order of the Said County Court made the 25th day of May 1852 and according to the Direction of the act of aSsembly in such Cases made and provided doth place and bind unto the said Enoch McNeill a free boy named Lewis Woodell an Infant of the age of nine years with the said Enoch McNeill to Live after the manner of an apprentice shall attain to the age of twenty one years during all which Time the said apprentice Shall faithfully Serve the Said Enoch McNeill ~ and his lawful Comman= =ds Readily obey and the said apprentice Shall not at any time absent himself from the Service of the said Enoch McNeill without leave but in all Lawful thing as a good and faithful Servant shall behave towards the said Enoch Mc Neill and the Said Enoch McNeill doth Covenant promise and agree ~ too and with the said Thomas A Norment that he will instruct or cause to be Tought and Instructed the said apprentice to learn -------------------------------------------- and that he will Constantly find and provide for the said apprentice during the Term aforesaid Sufficient did washing Lodging and apparel filing for an apprentice and also all other things necessary both in SickneSs and in health ~ In WitneSs whereof the parties have Interchangeable Set their hands and affixed their Seals the 3rd day of July and the year first above written ~ Tho A.
