Robeson County, NC - Penelope Britt (unmarried, Bascum Britt and wife Emma Britt - 1912 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA This Deed, Made this 16th Robeson County day of Aug. , 1912, by Penelope Britt (unmarried) Bascum Britt and wife Emma Britt, of the County of Robeson, and the State of North Carolina, of the first part to B.W. Lovett and wife Orpie Lovett of the County of Robeson, and the State of North Carolina, of the second part. WITNESSED: That the said parties of the first part, in consideration of the sum of ---Seven Hundred (700.00)--Dollars in hand paid by the party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do ----------------------- hereby bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part, and to his heirs and assigns forever, the following lands in Orrum Township, Robeson County, North Carolina, bounded and described as follows, to-wit: On both sides of the road leading from Sandy Level to Ivey's Bluff on Lumber River and being the same lands conveyed by deed from Isham Britt and wife Penelope Britt to the said Bascum B. Britt said deed made Sept. 4, 1896 and registered in Book Y.Y.Y Page 412 in the office of the register of deeds of Robeson County North Carolina referenced to which is hereby made for a more perfect description of said lands and being one half of the lands formerly owned by the said Isham Britt and wife Penelope Britt and being the one half of said lands including the dwelling houses and out houses of the said Isham Britt and wife Penelope Britt. TO HAVE AND HOLD the above described lands and premises, with the appurtenances, unto the said parties of the second part, his heirs and assigns, forever. And the said parties of the first part, for themselves and their heirs, executioners and administrators, doth covenant with the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns that they are lawfully seized in fee of the said lands, that they have good right to sell and convey the same; that they are free from all encumbrance; and that they will and their heirs, executioners and administrators shall warrant and defend the title to the same against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever.
