(Rueben) Lovett - 1905 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA This Deed, Made this 23rd Robeson County day of October , 1905, by Newit Cox & wife ------Cox, of the County of Robeson, and the State of North Carolina, of the first part to R.R. Lovett of the County of Robeson, and the State of North Carolina, of the second part. WITNESSED: That the said parties of the first part, in consideration of the sum of ---Seventy-five----Dollars in hand paid by the party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do ----------------------- hereby bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part, and to his heirs and assigns forever, the following lands in Britt's Township, Robeson County, North Carolina, bounded and described as follows, to-wit: Adjoining the lands of H.P. Lovett, Mrs. Collins & others. Beginning at a stake in the center of the Lovett Road in H.P. Lovett's line and runs with Lovett's line S. 65 1/2 E. 19.67 chains to a stake and small gum on Mrs. Collins Line; thence N. 69 3/4 E. 15.75 chains to a stake in the center of the Lovett Road; thence with the center line of the said road N.W. to the beginning, containing 10 1/2 acres. TO HAVE AND HOLD the above described lands and premises, with the appurtenances, unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, forever. And the said parties of the first part, for themselves and their heirs, executioners and administrators, doth covenant with the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns that they are lawfully seized in fee of the said lands, that they have good right to sell and convey the same; that they are free from all encumbrance; and that they will and their heirs, executioners and administrators shall warrant and defend the title to the same against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. And the said Minnie Davis being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said husband , touching her voluntary execution of the same, doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear or compulsion of her said husband or any other person, and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto.
