Robeson County, NC - Minnie Davis & husband Boyd Davis - 1938 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA This Deed, Made this 22nd Robeson County day of January , 1938, by Minnie Davis & husband Boyd Davis, of the County of Robeson, and the State of North Carolina, of the first part to Enoch Lovett of the County of Robeson, and the State of North Carolina, of the second part. WITNESSED: That the said parties of the first part, in consideration of the sum of -------Forty----------Dollars in hand paid by the party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do ----------------------- hereby bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part, and to his heirs and assigns forever, the following lands in Britt's Township, Robeson County, North Carolina, bounded and described as follows, to-wit: Adjoining the lands of Orrin Wilcox, Mary Cox, and others, bounded as follows, viz: Beginning at a designated point in Orrin Wilcox Northern boundary and runs about North by a pond to a bay and then follows a line of bays to Mary Cox's line; thence South along William Lovett's line to Orrin Wilcox line to the beginning, containing 25 acres, more or less, known as the Aldridge Lovett place. And being the same land conveyed by deed from Dr. H.T. Pope and wife to Tom Stone. Said deed dated November 24th, 1906, and duly recorded in the Office of the Register of Deeds of Robeson County in Book 5-D, at page 458, which said deed is hereby referred to and made a part of this description. This deed is intended to convey all the right, title and interest of the parties of the first part in and to the above described lands and premises. TO HAVE AND HOLD the above described lands and premises, with the appurtenances, unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, forever. And the said parties of the first part, for themselves and their heirs, executioners and administrators, doth covenant with the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns that they are lawfully seized in fee of the said lands, that they have good right to sell and convey the same; that they are free from all encumbrance; and that they will and their heirs, executioners and administrators shall warrant and defend the title to the same against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. And the said Minnie Davis being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said husband , touching her voluntary execution of the same, doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear or compulsion of her said husband or any other person, and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto.
