Davis & wife THIS DEED made this 18th day of to Feb'y, 1904, by Richard M. Davis Willie Lovett and wife Chrissie Davis, of Robeson County, North Carolina, of the first part to Willie Lovette, of the County of Robeson and State of North Carolina, of the second part: WITNESSETH, that the said parties of the first part, in consider- ation of the sum of One Hundred and Twenty-five Dollars, in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part, and to his heirs and assigns forever, the follow- ing lands in Britt's Township, Robeson County, North Carolina, bounded and described as follows, to wit: West of the Ten Mile Swamp and East of the Carolina Rail Road: beginning at a stake, the second corner and being the north-east corner of lot #5 which was allotted to Willie Lovett in the division of the lands of the late William Lovett, deceased, and runs North 60 deg. East _____ chains to a stake in the run of Ten Mile Swamp; thence down the run of said swamp to a stake in Carter's line; thence as Carter's line about West to a stake, "Fullmore Corner", it being also the corner of William Lovett's 150 acre tract; thence as the line of said 150 acre tract South 70 West 6 chains & 75 links to a stake, the South East Corner of Lot No. 5, now Willie Lovett's corner; thence as his line North 30 West 24 chains to the beginning, containing fifteen acres, more or less, and being part of Lot No. 3 as designated in the plots in the division of the lands of the late William Lovett, deceased. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the above described premises, with the appurten- ances, unto the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Richard M. Davis & wife Chrissie Davis, for themselves, their heirs, executors and administrators, do covenant with the party of the second part, his heirs and assigns, that they are lawfully seized in fee of the said lands; that they have good right to sell and convey the same; that they are free from all encumbrance, and that they will, and their heirs, executors and administrators shall, warrant and defend the title to the same against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. Davis and Chrissie Davis, his wife personally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the due execution of the within deed of convey- ance; and the said Crissie Davis, being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said husband, touching her voluntary execution of the same, doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear or compulsion of her said husband or any other person, and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto.
