Richd. C. Bunting Clk. Additional Comments: This deed of gift documents that Nathaniel Newberry, Mary Newberry, Elizabeth Newberry, Joseph Newberry, John Newberry and Sarah Newberry were children of, Joseph and Sarah Newberry; and that they were grandchildren of John Hawthorn, Sr., and that John Hawthorn, Sr. was the father of Sarah Newberry, their mother. Deed was dated March 10, 1815, at which time they all were residents of Robeson Co NC. This deed it very important as it documents the above lineage. This deed would provide lineage documentation if you or anyone else wanted to join the DAR or SAR under John Hawthorn, Sr., of whom I believe I told you that was a Captain of a Light Horse Company here in Robeson/Bladen County during the Revolutionary War.
