Wright Herring to Ichabod Herring and others
To all people to whom these presents shall come I Wright Herring of the 
County of Robeson, State of north Carolina for and in consideration of 
the natural love and affection I have for my two sons Ichabod Herring 
and Alexander Herring and for diver other good causes and 
consideration, me/we? Hereunto moving have given and granted unto and 
by these presents do give and grant to the said Ichabod Herring and 
(page 320) Alexander Herring one negro girl by name Rachel and her 
increase and two feather bed with steds and furniture to have and hold 
and enjoy all and singular the goods chattels and personal estate 
aforesaid unto the sd. Ichabod and Alexander, their executors 
administrators and assigns forever. And shall warrant and forever 
defend by these presents in witness whereof I the sd Wright Herring do 
hereunto set my hand and seal the 27th day of January 1821.
