Robeson County, NC - Richard Grantham Sr. to William Herring, 1810 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Volume Q 1811-1815 Robeson Co., NC Deeds page 311 (from microfilm read and copied at the Ladson Genealogical Library in GA by Paul Wetherington, 10-5-2004) Transcribed by Rose Parks 201ramp@dishmail.net This indenture made the 15th (18th?) day of December in the year 1810 between Richard Grantham Sr. of the county of Robeson and state of North Carolina of the first part and William Herring of the county aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds to him in hand paid at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt and payment is hearby acknowledged by me the said Richard Grantham to be fully satisfied and paid for one piece of land containing 50 acres lying in the county and state mentioned above and in the Islands between Ashpole and Drawning Creek patent bearing stamp 30 May 1794 beginning at a water Oak his own corner in William Herrings line and runs south 18 west with Herrings line22chains and 37 links to a stake by 2 oaks the N 72 W 22 chains and 37 links thence N 18 E 22 chains and 37 links thence a direct line to the beginning which sd land I do for myself my heir’s executor’s administrators and assigns warrant and forever defend free and clear of any claim or claims of any person or persons whatever.
