JOHN McNAIR, ADMINISTRATOR OF JOHN C. MCCORMIC

TO JAMES HUNT



John McNair Admr.    This Indenture made on the

            To                    twenty Seventh of August

James Hunt                 and year of our Lord

                                    One thousand eight hun-

dred and fifty five between John McNair as Admin-

istrator of John C McCormack Deceased of the state

of North Carolina dn Robeson County of the one

part and James Hunt of the County and State afore-

said of the other part.   WitneSseth that whereas John

C McCormack late of said State and County but

now deceased entered into a contract for the sale of a

piece or parcel of land lying in said County and

State with James Hunt and did enter into a bond

with said James Hunt for the sale of said land and

whereas the said John McNair was duly appointed

Administrator on the estate of said John Mc

Cormack by the County Court of said County

and State and whereas the said James Hunt

has paid the purchase money amounting to one

hundred and twenty Eight dollars to the said John

McNair the receipt whereof is hereby duly acknow

ledged now there fore the said John McNair in

consideration of the premises hath granted

bargained and sold and by these presents do

grant bargain and sell unto the said James

Hunt and his heirs a certain piece or parcel

of Land being and lying in said County and

State bounded as follows   Beginning at a stake

In the edge of a pond in sight of Bear Swamp

and runs due North 28 chains 50 links to a pine

at the intersection of the Stanford line then south

72 ½ West 26 chains to the run of Bear Swamp thence

down the run of said Swamp until a line of due

East Will direct to the beginning containing forty

eight acres more or less    To Have and to hold

the said lands to the said James Hunt and his

heirs   And the said John McNair will warrant

and defend the said land to the said James

Hunt and his Heirs so far as his office of

administraton will allow and no further.

   In testimony whereof the said John McNair

hath hereunto set his hand and seal on the day

and date above written.

   Robeson County                  { Then was the Execution

of the within Deed duly acknowledged in open Court by

John McNair Administrator the Grantor and ordered to
