Robeson County, NC - Benjamin & wife Molsey Lovett to Noah Carter, 1871 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This deed was written in 1871 and recorded in 1910. State of North Carolina Robeson County This Indenture maid the 16th day of June in the year of Our Lord Eighteen Hundred & Seventy One 1871 Between Benjamin Lovett and wife Molsey Lovett of the first part & Noah Carter of the second part all of the County of Robeson and State of North Carolina. Witnessed that said Benjamin Lovett and wife Molsey Lovett for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty (20) Dollars has bargained and By this presents doth grant Bargain Sell and deliver to the said Noah Carter his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece or parcel of Land containing Fifteen acres more or less Lying and being on the N.E. side of Horse Pen Branch Bounded By Benj. Lovette & J.B. Thomps and the said Horse Pen Branch with all and every the appertains thereunto with all Belonging or in any wise appertaining and we do hereby covenants to and with the said Noah Carter. That we have Before the execution of this deed full Right absolute and Lawful Authority to sell the said Land and précis's agreed hereby to warrant and forever defend the Right and Title of the same to him the said Noah Carter his heirs and assigns forever in witness the are of We have thereunto set my hand and seal 16th day of June 1871. The execution of the foregoing deed of conveyance from Benjamin Lovett and wife Molsey Lovett to Noah Carter was this day proven before me by the oath and examination of S.A. Edmund as to the handwriting of John H. Collins, the subscribing witness thereto as follows: North Carolina Robeson County S.A. Edmund being duly sworn deposes and says that Benjamin Lovett and Molsey Lovett his wife have both been dead for many years past and that John H. Collins the subscribing witness to the foregoing instrument is also dead. That affiant is well acquainted with the handwriting of the said John H. Collins and that the name of the said John H. Collins subscribed to said deed as a witness thereto is in the genuine handwriting of the said John H. Collins. S.A. Edmund Sworn to and subscribed before me this 14th day of March 1910. W.H.
